Olathe sweet, sweet corn festival

One charming thing about small towns is that each one has a festival of some sort and within 45 minutes we can go to Cherry Days, Olathe Sweet Corn Festival, Palisade Peach Festival, and Applefest, all depending on what's in season. (Delta has Territory Days - old west theme).

Ben got comp tickets to the Corn Festival this year so we tried it out. It's actually a very big event drawing 20,000 or so people. The attraction? All you can eat corn and a famous country singer. Ben and I dutifully ate 2 ears of corn. This picture was taken from our balcony, I was impressed with how bravely Joachim played by himself. First he pushed his swing a little and then he went on to feed grass to the the chickens. He looked so little in the big yard.
