First Birthday

Joachim celebrated his first Birthday (February 23) with his cousins, their Aunt Mary and their other Grandma, Mamy. He is so lucky to have so much family in town. Joachim's most treasured gift of the day is the basket of blocks his daddy made for him. At the end of the video you can hear Joachim say "out" as he takes a block out.

This is my home made carrot cake, I had such visions for it, but I ended up decorating it minutes before everyone arrived while holding a very squirmy Joachim in my other arm.
We had to light the candle twice because a very eager cousin blew it out before I snapped the pic. Joachim sort of got the hang of blowing, but I think it was daddy who finally did the honor.

spring!!! soon & very soon

Yesterday was so warm that the bees buzzed out of their hives for a couple hours. They looked so pitiful trying to get pollen from old dried out flowers that I put my Valentine's day flowers (3 hyacinth bulbs from Benjamin) out on the porch. Before I went back in there were at least 10 bees excavating pollen. Their buzz is such a refreshing change from the cold silence.As Joachim's first birthday approaches (Feb 23) here are pictures from a year ago today.

Matt + Molly Orr

Our dear friends Molly + Matt were married last month and they celebrated with warmth and beauty, I only wish Joachim could have lasted longer than two hours. I can't wait for them to visit.Joachim in his handsome wedding clothes.

Several months ago Joachim mastered the art of removing the batteries from our remote control rendering it useless. We regularly have to reprogram it.

The other video shows Jaochim accompanying his favorite word with the appropriate sign language... I'm sorry, I have no idea what it has to do with the TV... I know he's confused.
